Twitter: Five Changes Musk Made So Far

Image
Since Elon Musk stormed into Twitter headquarters in San Francisco three months ago, the company has hardly been out of the news. We’ve talked about what he thinks about the social network and some of his more controversial business moves, like letting go of half the staff. But we haven’t talked as much about how the 237 million people who use the platform every month have changed since he took over. Stopping alternative ways to use Twitter The most recent change is that Twitter stopped letting other platforms use its API to talk to it. If you use a social media manager to check your Twitter account instead of the Twitter app or website, you might find that Twitter doesn’t work with it right now. It needs to be clarified if the move was done on purpose, but many experts think it was… Read More Source:  California Observer

Plane Tickets Prices Rose by 44% Last Month

Image
According to new information, the prices of plane tickets and bus rides went up at a record rate in December. In the year leading up to December, official numbers show that plane tickets went up 44.1%. Since the late 1980s, this is the biggest jump. In December, people could go to many long-distance places without Covid restrictions for the first time since 2019. Analysts said that the main reason plane ticket prices went up was because jet fuel prices went up. Since rail strikes made bus tickets more expensive, there may have been more demand. Compared to December of the previous year, the price of a bus ticket went up by 17.5% in December. People had trouble getting where they needed to go in December because of rail strikes, so many took the road over the holidays. In December, the overall rate of inflation was 10.5%. This was because both plane and bus tickets cost more. Last month, inflation was lower than in November and October, but price increases are still at their highe...

Green Trade War between the US and the UK

Image
The race to rid the world of carbon emissions has created a potential green trade war between the United States and the United Kingdom. When Joe Biden’s Inflation Reduction Act was passed by the US Congress last summer, it was a good idea. The act included billions of dollars in subsidies for buying electric cars and other eco-friendly products. This was done to boost America’s green economy and fight climate change. But the fact that these subsidies will only be available to people who buy products made in the United States has upset many European countries. They see it as a thinly veiled attempt to get a piece of Europe’s and Britain’s high-tech manufacturing sector by getting European companies to move factories to the US... COVID rules hurt iPhone maker Foxconn

Image
Foxconn, an Apple supplier, says its November sales were down 11% from the same month in 2021. This is because of problems at the world’s largest iPhone factory. Twitter: Hate speech surges on Twitter after takeover

Image
Twitter owner Elon Musk said that since he took over, “hate speech impressions” had dropped a lot on the site since he took over. It was a surprising claim, given that Musk has fired hundreds of people and forced them to leave. Musk has also publicly criticized the company’s rules about content moderation and taken away resources that the company needed. T wo watchdog groups conducted research on Friday that showed Musk’s false claim. The research gave one of the clearest pictures of the rising rate of hate speech on the platform. In reports, both the Center for Countering Digital Hate and the Anti-Defamation League said that the amount of hate speech on Twitter had grown a lot while Musk was in charge.
