Diego Maradona's Medical Team Faces Trial for Negligence
The trial of eight medical professionals suspected of criminal negligence in the death of renowned Argentine footballer Diego Maradona has been mandated by a judge. Following a medical review that uncovered deficiencies and anomalies in Maradona's care, the judge has ordered a culpable murder trial. Maradona, who was 60 years old, passed away in Buenos Aires in November 2020 due to a heart attack, after undergoing brain surgery earlier that month. Prosecutors in Argentina initiated an inquiry into the physicians and nurses involved a few days after his death.
