  Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and the Florida Board of Education have agreed that slavery was more beneficial than damaging to pupils in public schools. The shift is part of a new African American history standard released on Wednesday, in which schools would teach students that slavery assisted certain Black individuals in developing important abilities.
